Allowing a stranger into your home can make you feel uncomfortable and uneasy. Here are some questions that can help you understand your home care options.
Home care usually includes a range of health and social services that are ordered by your physician and provided in your home.
Most individuals prefer to stay in the comfort of their own homes rather than go to a nursing home or other facility. Home care will give you and your family the peace of mind, having a trained caregiver available to assist as needed.

Getting home care can be intimidating and confusing. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff will help you learn what your options are. Our staff will help create the plan of care specific to your needs. This includes matching the right caregiver to the client. Summit is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our caregivers speak your language. Summit’s application process includes extensive screening and the aides are monitored regularly when they are on the job.
You would be surprised to learn that insurance companies may pay for some or all of the home care services that you require. Our intake staff can verify your insurance and explain your benefits to you. Summit has eligibility specialists who can help you apply for Medicaid and help get your services covered.
If your insurance does not cover home care services and you do not want to apply for Medicaid, you may choose to pay privately for an aide. The aide provides support to help you continue to live safely and independently in your home.
Summit caregivers are evaluated and thoroughly screened as a part of the hiring process. We will not hire an employee who does not meet the high standards that we have set. We perform background checks on every aide applicant before they are hired.
Home care services are designed to meet your needs and can be short term or long term – from a few hours a week to around-the-clock care.
